Hi. Hello. Welcome.
I’m Dr. Liz Fleagle, a clinical health psychologist specializing in the psychological experience of illness. With over a decade of experience in leading cancer centers, hospital systems, and multidisciplinary medical clinics, I provide evidence-based, compassionate therapy for individuals and families navigating the challenges of cancer, pain, chronic illness, transplant, medical trauma, and healthcare stress. My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in the science of wellbeing—offering a steady, supportive space to help you make sense of what you’re going through and reconnect with what matters most.
I help patients navigate loss, illness AND recovery.

We can either schedule a consultation call for a specific time when you reach out or you can schedule directly through my Simple Practice client portal. This call is usually about 10-20 minutes and allows us to get to know each other a little. I will ask a little bit about whats going on and what you are looking for in therapy. If I am a good fit, we will schedule an intake at this time.
-
Wonderful! We decided that we would be a good fit and scheduled an intake. This appointment feels a little different than other appointments because our goals are a little different. This appointment is a good opportunity for me to get a good sense of what brought you to therapy, what your goals are and a bit of your history. I usually say that by the end of our first appointment we will have a map of where we are going in therapy and the initial treatment plan!
At this appointment we will also decide what treatment modality will best serve considering individual therapy, couples work, therapy intensives and group therapy.
-
This is the best part!
It is where we do the work and get you feeling better. I offer a variety of therapy formats, but my individual therapy sessions are 55 minutes. How often we meet depends on you and what you are looking for. I usually see my patients a bit more frequently at the beginning (weekly or biweekly) and spread out sessions over time (monthly). I don’t require patients to use the same spot every week and am flexible to meet your needs and fit in your schedule. Most of my patients feel better within a few sessions and end up seeing me for about 6 months. Obviously, there are many factors that influence this and we will talk about it at the intake and as therapy goes on.
If you are worried that you won’t know what to say in therapy, I will help you.
If you are worried that you won’t know how to get the most out of therapy, that is my job and we will work together to make sure your needs our met.
-
Yay! You are feeling better. You met your goals and are ready to move on with your life. This is my hope for you too! Although we may not be seeing each other regularly, please know that my door is always open and you are welcome back if you ever feel the need.
